28 Hours At A Yoga Retreat: Here’s What We Learned…

Where were we on the 14th of June, you ask? Well, we packed our bags and headed off to West Lexham, in Norfolk, for an unforgettable yoga retreat with @adventureyogi. We took 5 exceptional bloggers to test the retreat out with us: @clean_eating_alice, @stef_fit, @busybee.carys, @justinegallice, @carolineclnfit. The result? We’ve never felt more re-energised and at peace with ourselves. Here’s a breakdown of what we got up to during our 28 hours at the retreat (warning: if you’re sensitive to mouth-watering food pics, look away!)

Wednesday, June 14th

7:30pm: The girls have arrived! Now, for some drinks, dinner and plenty of mingling! The retreat looked beautiful, set in a rustic, countryside house. We also added some Fabletics decorations in there to make it feel like home.

Thursday, June 15th

7:45 – 8:30 am: We all met up in the dining room and started the day with a vitamin boost. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful breakfast bowl!

We then went on a beautiful nature walk around the retreat, during which we were told to remain silent, in order to fully tune into all of the sounds within the surrounding nature and be mindful of our bodies with every step we took. It was a truly liberating experience to just switch off and connect with nature.

8:30-10:30 am: We took part in a dynamic morning rise and shine yoga class. There was a lot of partner work involved, so it was a chance for us to also connect with each other.

10:30 am: Brunch time! After a walk in nature and partner yoga, brunch was met with much enthusiasm. On the menu: an alkalising green juice, a mushroom and spinach frittata, fresh fruit and a berry chia porridge. Yum, yum!

11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Free time! We enjoyed the sunshine and the beautiful scenery. Plus, we also had the opportunity to get a soothing massage. Sigh…so relaxing!

1:00 – 2:00 pm: We headed outside for an al fresco pilates workout.

2:15 pm: Time for more food with a second round of brunch, followed by another massage!

5:00 – 7:00 pm: We enjoyed our last class of the day. It took the shape of a gentle yoga flow, leading to restorative yoga and yoga nidra. It was so relaxing that we had fallen asleep by the end of it!

7:00 pm: Dinner time! We then lounged around and chatted, before heading off to our rooms for a good night’s sleep.

We’ve come out of this retreat not only feeling refreshed and more mindful, but also with great memories. It was such a nice break from the daily routine, giving us a chance to connect with nature as well as ourselves. We’d definitely go back again!
