The daily goal: Eat five to six times a day. Three meals and two to three small snacks.
1) Eat: fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat and complex carbohydrates with each meal.
2) Drink water (2 liters per day)
3) Avoid processed or refined foods. *If you can’t state the name of an ingredient on the label, it probably isn’t “clean”.
Working out? Don’t forget to pack a healthy snack!
Before we start our challenge, let’s simplify the rules. Make some simple lists of food “on the list“ and foods not on the list.
Buy Organic whenever possible. Keeping foreign or unnatural chemicals out of our system is the goal. But, it can also be expensive. Here is a list of the “Dirty Dozen” or fruits and veggies that have been shown to contain the most amounts of pesticides. Buy them organic if possible.

Luckily, shopping to eat clean has become easier and easier. Even local grocery stores offer local farmed, organic fruits and vegetables. They also offer many whole grain breads. The meat department keeps it simple as well.
